At K9000 Dog Wash we love taking photos of our many customers that use our dog wash. In mid November we had three Shetland Sheepdogs in for a bath and photo-shoot. Navahjo, Delaware and Lakota Sioux, owned by Daryl and Sheryl, are named after American Indian Tribal names. Sherly and Daryl have a fascination with the American Indian culture and have named all their pets after Indians. Their rabbits, their cats, their birds; even their fish have Indian tribal names.
The Blue Merl (Navahjo), Sable and White (Delaware) and Tri-Colour (Lakota Sioux) dogs looked fantastic lined up in the dog wash together.
In a terrible turn of events, a week after we took these photos, their youngest dog, Lakota Sioux (2.5 years old) tragically died after being hit by a car. Not surprisingly, Daryl and Sheryl have been grief stricken by the loss of their much loved family member. They wanted to share these last photos of their ‘Siouxy’ with you.
“Everyone who met her fell in love with her Impish looks. She was unlike any other Sheltie we had ever owned Siouxy lived by her own rules but that was part of the package. Our circle of friends has grown somewhat due I'm sure to this little dog. She had some health problems and we know there where days she felt a bit down but such was her zest for life only we knew that. Too short a life but one lived to the fullest.”
