K9000 Dog Wash will be celebrating our 10 year manufacturing anniversary at the Australian Car Wash Association Trade Show this week in Melbourne. We’ll be catching up with lots of our existing Car Wash customers, and hopefully meeting a few new ones…We want to celebrate in style so we’re giving away spot prizes to people who come visit our stand, including quality wash-guns and an iPad mini. We also have plenty of balloons, lollies and treats for our party guests, so make sure you come say hello and celebrate with us!
Here at K9000 Dog Wash we value the experience of meeting our customers face-to-face and thats why we try to get along to as many trade shows as possible. What you get at a Trade Show is the freedom to chat with clients and through this we get feedback that we might not have received otherwise. Time away from the office hanging out can also free up space to dream a little and generate new ideas.
The last Trade Show we attended was a week long Vet Conference in Brisbane called the AVA Pan Pac Vet Conference (May). There were over 1000 attendees and it was an awesome networking opportunity for us. We flew over our New Zealand Distributor Damien Curtain and we spent the week catching up. In New Zealand, his biggest market is the Vet Industry and finds the secret to a successful Dog Wash is to install it outside and make it available 24/7.
We took part in the AVA Passport Competition, by donating a Go Pro Camera with a Dog Harness as a prize. The Passport Competition is a great way to ensure people come an visit your stand at the Trade Show. Basically, people get a small booklet (passport) with a list of exhibitor stands to visit, as they visit the stands they have their booklet stamped. Once the passport is full with stamps, lots of great prizes are drawn. To get involved the exhibitors need to donate a prize valued $500-$1000, so its makes it well worth people’s time to go around and get those stamps. It is a very social and fun competition.
Our Go Pro Camera with a Dog Harness was won by Louise Duval, Lynwood Veterinary Clinic, WA. Louise was very happy to receive the prize and has plans to make some movies with her children. Louise is the practice owner at her clinic, which has been established for 30 years now with a very loyal client base and staff. They do not have a dog wash at the clinic (YET) but instead use an old hydro bath to wash dogs on Saturdays.
“It has to be filled with warm water from the tap! At this stage we only do baths on Saturdays and our trainee vet nurse does the bathing - we use it to fund raise for Free the Bears. Unfortunately the layout of the clinic doesn't leave room to have one out the front which would be ideal for the K9000 dog wash,” said Louise.
Even though Louise isn't in the market for one of our dog washes right now, we are sure we will come to mind when her old hydro bath packs it in. Just think, she would save on labour, save on maintenance and would be able to wash a lot more dogs each week too. More than likely, with a dog wash installed, she'll attract more customers too...
We asked Louise why she attended the conference, she replied, “I went along to conference mainly to attend the practice management workshop and lectures. I only bought the Lynwood Veterinary Clinic in December 2013 so I've lots to learn in relation to running a business and managing staff. It was also the first opportunity I've had to attend a conference interstate and also take a break from my 4 children”
It would seem Trade Shows have benefits for everyone. They are great place to network, exchange ideas, build on your professional knowledge and meet prospective clients. Make sure you visit our stand at the ACWA Trade Show this week, you may just get lucky and walk away with a great prize to remember us with.
