Alex Droste of Warrnambool was very surprised and delighted when she was contacted with the news that she’d won a prize for the K9000 Dog Wash Competition. The surprise was that the owners of K9000, Tim and Kate Darmanin were so impressed by Alex’s film that they instructed the judges to create a new category- Best Film from someone Under 18 - just so they could award her for her outstanding entry.

Alex created a film about a ‘typical’ day out with her dog Kelsey. Alex loves the water so their day out was spent swimming in the river and at the beach, playing ball and stick, running, walking, jumping and at the end of the day, having a bath at the K9000 Dog Wash of course!  

Fourteen year old Alex has a keen interest in photography and making movies. She plans to spend her winning $300 voucher, along with her savings, on a new iPad so that she continue making films about her friends and Kelsey.
